Music therapy groups address goals such as: improving quality of life, working on cognitive skills, memory, motor functioning, increasing social interaction, and engaging in fun musical experiences.  A treatment plan will be created, and resident's progress in targeted areas will be documented accordingly.  Music therapy groups are usually smaller in size in order for the therapist to address these goals.

Music activity groups are based on music therapy principles, but focus on the act of music making (drum circles, hand bell choir), or an activity or game that incorporates music.  These groups are structured to reach larger groups in facilities.

If you have a family member or a loved one who is in a skilled nursing, assisted living, or memory care facility, and think they would benefit from music therapy, I will travel to your family member to provide individual music therapy.  I will also travel to do in home visits.  These services can include:

  • Assisting your loved one in playing a musical instrument

  • Providing a non-threatening environment for your loved one to participate in music experiences

  • Providing live music of client's choice in which the music therapist can mold according to client's physiological and emotional reactions

And much more! Contact me for more information.

If your facility has residents who are unable to get out of their rooms for medical reasons, they might benefit from individual music therapy.  These sessions are tailored to the individual's needs, and the therapist uses music that is client preferred.  A treatment plan for the client is created and progress on goals and objectives is monitored and documented after each session.

I provide music therapy groups, music activities, and individual music therapy sessions for older adults.  My services include reaching out to those who are in assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, rehabilitation, and independent living facilities, as well as in home visits.
